NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's swimming and diving team is off to a fast start after the first session of the HYP meet at Kiphuth Pool. The Bulldogs lead Princeton 95-55 and have a 105-45 advantage over Harvard.
Yale's 200 medley relay of
Lindsey Wagner, Ava Franks, Alex Massey and
Iszac Henig started the swimming events strong by finishing first with a time of 1:38.42.
The Bulldogs' next victory came in the 100 backstroke as Wagner posted a time of 53.58.
Yale had the top two finishers in the 100 breaststroke. Franks won with a time of 1:01.47 followed by
MaryKate Buckley, who was second in 1:02.41.
Massey captured the 200 butterfly in 1:57.51.
Yale then dominated the 50 freestyle, posting the four fastest times. Henig won in 22.09.
Ophelia Pilkinton (23.06) was second followed by
Marissa Healy (23.33) and Wagner (23.39).
Olivia Paoletti and
Isabella Paoletti finished one-two in the 400 IM to close out the session. Olivia had a time of 4:18.97, while Isabella was at 4:25.22.
The women's meet concludes on Saturday. The 1-meter diving is set for 9:30 a.m. followed by the swimming events at 12:05 p.m.
