NEW HAVEN, Conn. — No. 4 Yale fell to No. 3 Princeton by a score of 8-1 this afternoon at the Brady Center. The Bulldogs are now 4-2 on the season and 2-2 in Ivy play.
Despite Yale's defeat, every match on the afternoon was hard-fought, the closest ones coming at the No. 3 and No. 5 seeds.
No. 3 Christy Lau went back and forth with her opponent Raneem El Torky before eventually falling in five games and
No. 5 Meghna Sreedhar lost in a four-game, 50-minute match to Princeton's Emme Leonard.
No. 2 Elisabeth Ross secured an impressive win for the Elis, defeating her opponent in four games by a score of 11-4, 11-8, 10-12, 11-3.
"We lost to an extremely deep Princeton team," said
Lynn Leong, Brooks G. Ragen Director of Squash at Yale. "We will look to bounce back against Penn."
Yale hopes to get back in the win column when it faces No. 9 Penn tomorrow at noon at the Brady Center.
