NEW HAVEN, Conn. – In its only non-Ivy meet of the season, the Yale men's swimming and diving team excelled against Southern Connecticut, cruising to a 237-60 victory. The diving events were held at Kiphuth Pool, while the swimming events were at Southern Connecticut. The Bulldogs had the top finisher in every event.
"Today was a reflection of the excellent work we see every day in training," said Associate Head Coach
Kyle Schack. "This group is positive, encouraging and hard working. As a staff we're real proud of the work they've put in this semester in the classroom and the pool."
Multi-event winners in swimming included
Conner Kang (1,000 free, 200 IM),
Liam Bogart (100, 200 breast) and
Noah Millard (200 back, 100 fly)
Other winners for the Bulldogs were
Philippe Marcoux (200 free),
Joseph Page (100 back),
Alex Brehm (200 fly),
Greg Kalin (50 free),
Nathan Stern (100 free) and
Jed Jones (500 free).
Yale also won the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays.
In diving,
Jean Paul Ditto and
Caleb Schoenewolff both qualified for the NCAA Zone Championships which is the qualifier for the NCAA National Championships. Ditto won the 1 and 3 meter events.
This was Yale's last meet until after final exams and the holidays. The Bulldogs are off until Jan. 7-8 when they face Penn and Dartmouth in Philadelphia.
"The past 14 weeks we were able to be together, in person, and we are grateful to everyone who helped make the fall semester at Yale a success," Schack said.
