CANTON, N.Y. – The No. 9 Yale Women's Hockey Team erased a pair of deficits to earn a 4-4 overtime tie with St. Lawrence tonight at Appleton Arena.
The Bulldogs, who outshot SLU 32-15, earned a tough, conference road point by coming back from 1-0 and 3-2 Saints' leads.
The home team got on the board just 23 seconds into the game, but the Elis answered with two straight.
Anna Bargman converted a pass in the slot from
Elle Hartje at 8:31 before
Claire Dalton scored shorthanded a few minutes later.
Yale's lead was brief, and the road team found itself down by a goal after one frame.
Emma Seitz crashed the net to make it 3-3 in the third, but the Saints jumped on a power play and found the net again to take their final lead.
Rebecca Vanstone took a feed from an Hartje faceoff almost four minutes later and went top shelf to even things at 4-4 in the second.
The teams went scoreless in the third and the 3-on-3 overtime, while
Pia Dukaric stopped nine of 10 shots in relief of starter
Gianna Meloni to earn the decision.
The Elis, who are now unbeaten in five straight games, face No. 7 Clarkson on Saturday at 3 p.m.
