Rematch with Brown Starts Ivy League Second Half

Bulldogs Have Won 4 of 6 Matches

Bella Chan and the Bulldogs travel to Brown on Friday.

The Bulldogs travel to Providence on Friday to face first-place Brown and get a chance to gain ground in the Ivy League standings. 

Yale (11-5, 4-3 Ivy League) enters the match fresh off a 3-1 win at Penn -- its four win in the last six matches.  In the win, the Bulldogs dominated at the net and the service line.  

The Bulldogs set a team-season best 13 total blocks, including 11 from Fatima Samb had 11.  Yale also tied a season-high with 10 service aces.  

Maile Somera posted two aces against Penn, and entered the week leading the Ivy League in service aces per set (0.43).  She added 16 digs, and stood at third overall in the conference in digs per set (4.61). 

Brown defeated Yale in a five-set match that went down to the wire on September 24.  There were nine ties in the final set. The last one was 13-13 before the Bears won the final two points to clinch the match.  Bonnie Bostic had 19 kills to lead the Bulldogs, while Samb had 15.

The Bears (14-3, 7-0 Ivy League) remained undefeated league play and continued their best start in program history with wins at Princeton and Penn.  Sophia Miller was named Ivy League Player of the Week for the third time this season, and Cierra Jenkins won Ivy League Rookie of the Week.
