YALE at QUINNIPIAC
FRIDAY, FEB. 21, 2020
HAMDEN, Conn.
Game Notes for Yale
The final weekend of the regular season is here and the Yale Women's Hockey Team, which has already clinched a playoff spot among the top eight, aspires to reach a home post-season series. That would require a fourth-place finish for the Elis, who are currently four points shy of the position and would need some help. The Bulldogs skate at No. 10 Quinnipiac and No. 6 Princeton this Friday and Saturday in games airing live on ESPN+ and internationally on stretch internet.

BULLDOGS
Yale, entering the weekend in fifth with 24 points, tied its program record for conference wins (12) in a season after beating Colgate 5-3 last Friday at New Haven. The Blue fell to No. 1 Cornell on Saturday but is proving itself every weekend as the playoffs near. Sophomore
Claire Dalton had a four-point weekend and rookie
Elle Hartje tallied two goals and an assist at Ingalls last week. Junior
Gianna Meloni made 30 saves on Friday, while senior
Tera Hofmann notched 20 against the Big Red. Yale is a win shy of the school's season victory record and is one of three (1985-86, 2003-04) in program history to win as many as six straight, while it fell a game shy of the longest (5-0-2, 2004-05) unbeaten string.
LAST MEETING
Quinnipiac already has a pair of wins over Yale. The Bobcats won the Nutmeg Classic Championship Game 3-1 at Hamden in November before taking another 3-1 contest at New Haven last month. Princeton edged the Bulldogs 2-1 on Jan. 31 at the Whale.
BOBCATS
Quinnipiac (18-11-3, 10-8-2) trails Yale by two points in sixth place, coming off a split with the North Country teams. The Bobcats had their five-game win streak snapped by St. Lawrence, 3-2, but knocked off a ranked Clarkson team, 2-1, the night before.
TIGERS
Princeton (20-5-1, 15-4-1) enters its game at Brown on Friday in second place with 31 points. Last Saturday, its 10-game unbeaten streak and six-game win string came to an end with a 2-1 loss to Clarkson at Potsdam. The Tigers are 11-2 at Baker Rink this season.
