ITHACA, N.Y. – The Yale men's tennis team posted a couple of impressive doubles victories but dropped a hard-fought 4-1 decision to Dartmouth in the opening round of the ECAC Indoor Championships.
The duo of
Arnav Dhingra and
Michael Sun posted a 6-4 victory at the No. 1 doubles position.
Ryan Cheng and
Cody Lin were equally impressive at No. 2, knocking off the 51st-ranked Dartmouth duo of Peter Conklin and Casey Ross.
The Big Green, though, won four hard-fought singles matches to clinch the victory.
"Overall a good effort from our team today. We played a complete doubles point across all three courts and pushed a good team to the end in singles," said
Chris Drake, The Cary Leeds Head Coach of the Bulldogs. "This was a performance we can definitely build on moving forward."
Yale plays Brown on Saturday in the consolation bracket. The match is set for a noon start.
