NEW HAVEN, Conn. – With four of Yale's next six opponents currently ranked in the top 16 nationally, the Bulldogs will quickly get an idea of what it is like to play the NCAA's best. That stretch starts this weekend with a trip to Virginia, where the Bulldogs play No. 16 Liberty (Saturday, 2:00 p.m.) and No. 6 Virginia (Sunday, 1:00 p.m.,
ACC Network Extra).
YALE SPLITS OPENING WEEKEND
After falling 4-1 to UMass in the season opener last Friday, Yale (1-1, 0-0 Ivy League) bounced back to blank Sacred Heart 4-0 Sunday. Four different players scored goals against the Pioneers -- junior forward/midfielder

Holly Jackson (Glastonbury, England) and senior forward

TERROSO LEADS LEAGUE
Junior goalkeeper
Sydney Terroso (York, Pa.), a second team All-Ivy League selection last season, is atop the Ivy League in save percentage (.826) and saves (19) after the first two games.
VIRGINIA BULLDOGS
This weekend marks a homecoming for three Bulldogs from Virginia. First year midfielder
April Kim (Fredericksburg, Va.) and her sister first year forward/midfielder
Ashley Kim (Fredericksburg, Va.) both played for James Monroe High School, where Ashley was the state player of the year and April was second team all-state last season. Senior forward
Annina Zelkin (Lorton, Va.) played for Lake Braddock High School, where she was second team all-state in 2015.
SCOUTING LIBERTY
Liberty (3-0, 0-0 Big East) is coached by
Nikki Parsley-Blocker, who was an assistant coach at Yale in 2014 and 2015. Last season she led the Flames to a 13-6 record, including a program-best 6-1 mark in the Big East.
Yale last played Liberty in 2017, taking a 1-0 victory in overtime at Johnson Field on a goal by
Carol Middough '18. Junior goalkeeper
Sydney Terroso (York, Pa.) made seven saves in the shutout, aided by a defensive save from senior back
Alex MacKay (North Vancouver, B.C.).
SCOUTING VIRGINIA
Virginia (4-0, 0-0 ACC), which plays at No. 4 Maryland Friday, has allowed only three goals in four games so far this season. Goalie Lauren Hausheer, who has played for the U.S. U-21 National Team, is ninth in the nation in save percentage (.842).
The Cavaliers are coached by Michele Madison, a member of the NFHCA Hall of Fame and a former assistant US Olympic Team coach.
