Yale Defeats Drexel

Four Bulldogs Sweep

HARTFORD, Conn. — The Bulldogs rebounded in round two of the Howe Cup, the CSA team championships, with a 9-0 win against Drexel.

Four Elis collected sweeps, including No. 1 Lucy Beecroft, No. 2 Helen Teegan, No. 7 Alexis Lazor and No. 9 Ainsley Weber. No. 3 Celine Yeap, No. 4 Aishwarya Bhattacharya and No. 5 Emily Sherwood all won in close four-game matches. No. 6 Riya Mital won in a back-and-forth five game match.

 

Also winning on the afternoon were Harvard (over Stanford) and Trinity (over Princeton).

The Bulldogs play tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. against Columbia to determine fifth place in the Howe Cup division. Yale defeated Columbia 7-2 earlier in the season.
