Yale Set for Home Openers

NEW HAVEN, Conn.—The No. 8 Yale men's squash team will host its first home matches of the season this week, starting with a challenging match against No. 1 ranked Trinity College on Wednesday.

A win against Trinity would be a remarkable victory for the Bulldogs, who have not beaten the Bantams in regular season competition since 2012. Trinity holds an undefeated 8-0 record so far this season. If Yale (5-4, 1-2 Ivy) can hold its confidence on home turf and rise up to meet the top ranked team in the country, it would be a huge upset.

The Yale men will focus on their internal process throughout the week. Regardless of results against Trinity, the Bulldogs will return to the courts at the Brady Squash Center in Payne Whitney Gymnasium on Saturday for two back-to-back matches.

Yale is slotted to play both No. 11 George Washington (9-4) and No. 13 Navy (13-6) this weekend. The Bulldogs aim to play to their ranking and beat both teams, which should not pose much difficulty with a home crowd rallying behind them.

The Bulldogs will play against Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24. Live stream coverage of those matches can be found here.

Saturday's match against George Washington will begin at 10:00 a.m., and play against Navy will start at 3:00 p.m. Live stream coverage of those events can be found here.
