NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- For the last time in their collegiate career, the Yale women's squash class of 2017 led its team to victory at the Brady Squash Center in Payne Whitney Gymnasium. In the Bulldogs' final home match of the season, the No. 5 Yale women shut out the No. 11 Dartmouth Big Green 9-0.
The match was highlighted by 3-0 routes by each of Yale's seniors: Jenny Scherl, Madeline Tomlinson, and captain Shiyuan Mao. The three members of the class of 2017 had never lost a match to Dartmouth heading into today, and finished their home playing careers by capping off yet another win.
This was just another loss in a disappointing Ivy League season for the Big Green, who moved to 0-6 in conference play and 3-7 overall. The Yale women moved to 11-3 on the season, including 4-2 in Ivy League play.
Up next for the Bulldogs is the regular season finale against No. 1 Harvard in Cambridge on Sunday. Matches will begin at 1:00 p.m.
