HANOVER, N.H. - Following a 5-2 loss against Harvard on Friday, the Yale men's tennis team (9-12, 1-5 Ivy) lost 4-3 to the Dartmouth Big Green (13-6, 4-2 Ivy) on Sunday.
After winning the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3, Dartmouth went up 3-0 with wins at No. 5 and No. 6. Next, junior Erik Blumenkranz earned a point for the Bulldogs with a straight-set win at No. 4 (7-6 (5), 6-1). However, the Big Green clinched the match with a three-set win at No. 1 over sophomore John Huang.
Even so, Yale won two of the remaining matches in three sets. Sophomores Marc Powers and Daniel Hoffman at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, won their matches in third-set tiebreakers.
The Bulldogs will conclude their season against Brown on Saturday at 2 p.m.
