NEW HAVEN, Conn.--Yale freshman libero Kelly Ozurovich has been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the third time. She tallied 43 digs in matches against Penn and Princeton. Ozurovich, who shared the award with Cornell's Katie Marshall, was also honored on Sept. 25 and Oct. 9. With three selections, she tied Brown's Megan Toman for the most in the league this season.
Ozurovich averaged 5.38 digs per game as the Bulldogs split with the Quakers and Tigers. Against Penn on Friday night, she had a match-high 29 digs and added two service aces in the four-game victory. On Saturday afternoon against Ivy champion Princeton, she tallied 14 digs and three aces.
The Playa del Rey, Calif., native leads the Bulldogs with 379 digs and ranks fourth in the Ivy League with 5.26 digs per game. She has the fourth-highest single-season digs total in school history, and the second-most ever by a Yale freshman. Ozurovich also has a team-high 35 aces and ranks second in the league with 0.49 aces per game.
The Bulldogs (15-7, 9-4 Ivy) conclude their Ivy League season on Tuesday night, when they visit Brown (7-16, 5-8 Ivy) for a 7 p.m. matchup.
